Scholastic kicks off its relaunch of the immensely popular Dear America series with its first new title in five years, written by Kirby Larson: The Fences Between Us: The Diary of Piper Davis is set to be published in September 2010.

Two Bobbies Wins Sixth Young Readers Choice Award
Two Bobbies: A True Story of Hurricane Katrina, Friendship and Survival, has won the hearts of readers of many ages but it is especially meaningful to Kirby and to Mary to win state Young Readers Choice awards, which are voted on by students. To date, Two Bobbies has been nominated for sixteen state awards and has won in six states: Alabama, Montana, North Carolina, North Dakota, Pennsylvania and Washington.
