Sweet Home Alabama
Looking at this great group, you can understand why I had such a terrific time at Pizitz Middle School in Vestavia Hills, Alabama. I spoke to 1200 kids -- 600 at a time -- and found them to be so receptive and respectful. I think I even inspired Principal David Miles to dig into his own family stories and write them down.
Librarian Ann Knight and her top-notch crew did an amazing job of preparing the students for my visit and for making me (and Neil!) feel welcome. Neil even picked up a new recipe for stuffing which he made for Thanksgiving -- it's a keeper.
